Conservatism - The Inability to detect humour?

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/04/27/colbert-study-conservativ_n_191899.html

And now we have scientific proof that conservatives have absolutely no sense of humour, vitreous or otherwise.

Regarding Conservatism and Conservatives, we do not believe Conservatives are simply "stupid"

It is not a bad thing to be conservative- But to be a conservative and to be in a position to make policy, is bad news, and extremely ill-advised. Especially if the conservative official have no ability to detect sarcasm and ironic humour.

So how does that affect their ability to express professional opinions on the issues which come up in legislation, issues which may or may not become law, affecting everybody?

It does not look good.

Most conservatives will voice renunciations simply because "It is our policy to do so" and they will not bother to look into things themselves.

For instance, Harry Potter. Christian Conservatives renounced Harry Potter Author and Books as Satanic and Demonic ilk, "Teaching Children to cast magic spells" - and if we question some of the most outspouted spouters, if they had ever read any of the work? No. So, regardless of actual content of the Harry Potter books, the Conservatives immediately pronounced sentence on the book and author JK Rowling.

The same thing happened with Scorsese's "The Last Temptation of Christ" -

And then again for "The Davinci Code"

That there may be issues in these works, that are probably offensive to said conservatives, is not the point, but rather, that they will do no self-investigation. And they will not do so in mortal fear that a person who does not share their conservative opinions will possibly talk them into changing their minds, and God Forbid, that happen!

In huge rallies where 70,000 or more people are rabble roused and charged to boycott the books and films I mentioned - If we ask any random member of said lynch mob, "Did you ever read/see this material" - The answer is emphatically NO- With no desire to see if even the charges are true or not.

Now, how does this reflect on our current government? The conservatives which hold elected offices have stated plainly, per Bobbly Jindal's "Official Republican Response" to the early "Obama National Pep Talk", that "The Republican Party Absolutely Will Not Help the Current Administration in Any Form"

Jindal meant collectively, and this is how all conservative groups act, they act as a Mob - And as a Mob. they can be stirred into action by the tirades of their most outspouted leaders- Like the dangerous Rush Limbaugh.

And so we have the current dilemma - The Republican party is mired in their conservatism and pledged to do absolutely nothing to help the problems, problems which they are mostly responsible for in 8 years of bad decision making.

My challenge is for individual members of that party, to think about why they should be following any of Limberger's advice, or Jindal's advice, or anyone in government that says, "everything will be fine if we do not spend any money"

Unfortunately, the mess we are in, requires not bailout, but development of whole new technologies, and that costs money. If the most outspouting of these dérailleurs would stop spouting and start thinking about what they can do personally to improve our status, then these new technologies can be put into use rapidly instead of being shouted down by every would-be Limbaugh on our sidewalks standing on soapboxes yelling "socialism! socialism!"

I would prefer a little socialism to even the appearance of National Socialism.

And as you know, the Republican Pundits are branding these people who want the changes, "Commies" while the Democrat Pundits (are there any? I thought all pundits are right wing) are calling the republicans "Nazis"

Well, if it comes to name calling,"Nyah - the name I called you is a worse name than the one you called me! Nyah Nyah PhPhPhPh!"
